Hello, My name is Oded Levitte. I'm sending you this story I've written last year (and hoping that this is the correct e-mail address to send it to). Here it is... Please let me know what you think about it and send me your site address again. 1000 years ago- The Vorlon transport smiled to itself as it passed through sector 43. this was a routine mission, to keep a watchful eye on the dark enemy that had a base near by. It was not a large transport or a very old one-only about 500 earth years since her co-existent Vorlon and she came into being. it had long slender neck (bridge-like) and marvelous spots of all sorts on its sides. the ship sang to herself and her passenger-partner as shadows danced on her back. and so,very suddenly, it felt something was wrong. the ship was brush and didn't have a lot of experience, so when the first of its tentacles was blown away by swift rays of energy weapon , it was shocked. its master cried out in horror and ordered the ship around. It was too late... a hole opened on the side of the transport , filling it with pain and darkness.the shadow cruiser screamed in victory and delight and the transport was swallowed by chaos... 2256-Narn space Starship captain Na'lah was excited as she has never been before. today ,by noon, she'll be promoted to command the "Shad'ren",one of the star fleet finest ships! her promotion was due timed for her part in a recent "incident" in which a Centauri transport and several fighters disappeared. The Narn regime was blooming-with the Centauri out of the way, part of homeworld rebuilt and a trend of expansion , it seems to Na'lah the Narn were claiming , at last, their rightful place amongst the stars. "Only the Vorlons are stronger than we are,and maybe....no,such foolish thoughts. and then again..." she thought to herself. "Still, I'm going to miss this old ship". the "G'vak" was a small cruiser , more like a very big fighter than anything else. "One more tour around and that's it" she told her first officer. "Lt. K'lae, set course for sector 43, full velocity so we can make it back for the ceremony". "Yes,captain" was the obedient reply. There was a hum which grew to a sound only a Narn ship could produce-the Narn special hyperspace engines. after a few hours a jump point was formed in sector 43 and "spitted" out the Narn ship. "How's starbase 23 is doing? call them, see if they require supply or fresh news from home". "Starbase 23 is not responding , captain" said the commander. "What? we've just been there a couple of weeks ago and repaired their receiver . there aren't that many meteors in this sector" said the captain. "all right, I have them on screen. there was some disturbance I've never encountered before" sighed the commander. "repeat , this is starbase 23 , do you read me?" said the fuzzy voice of the commander of the station. "we read you.do you have something to report?". "Nothing that can't wait until the monthly report. I just don't understand these disturbances in communication . we keep on having them though we've replace the entire array . probably nothing but you know how the admiral can be..." said the base commander. captain Na'lah knew what he meant and all to well . The admiral who was assigned to their sector was extremely strict , even for a Narn. "We'll send you some maintains teams as soon as we reach homeworld.this is just a good-bye tour. you do know the we are being transferred from the "G'vak"? asked the captain. "Yes,of course, congratulations again captain",came the reply. "Envy?",Na'lah thought, "nevermind, can't worry about everything at once-or can I? I could recommend the..." her thoughts were cut by the cries of her second in command "we got a distress call". "Who is it?" ,she asked. "It's...,it's a Vorlon?!" came the very surprised answer. "set course to intercept , full speed",she ordered , amazed herself. A Vorlon?! It was a 15 minutes trip in hyperspace , and just as they reached their target , the distress call ceased. Na'la was just opening communication to homeworld to report the call when they exited hyperspace. Due to an energy drain communication was briskly cut off,and so there was no one who heard their cries of horror when a powerful ray smashed their ship to tiny pieces. The Vorlon transport laughed to herself as it was blowing away any remains of the Narns . Then, it went away , screaming as it did. 2260-Earth Alliance renegade station Babylon 5 "What?! are you sure? but that's impossible! thank you commander ,I'll get right on it" captain Sheridan felt very annoyed and quite shocked .in the last few days he received reports about a Vorlon ship where it was not supposed to be (infringing on other governments territory) and worse- a Minbari flyer was under attack and nearly destroyed ("if that Minbari war cruiser wasn't there at the time I... I might have lost Delenn!"). several Narn fighters have been destroyed while centaur and Earth ships which moved through the same sector a few hours earlier were not bothered. Ambassador Kosh ("How I miss the old kosh") refused to talk or respond to the matter. the latest news was that a Minbari cruiser was damaged by an unknown Vorlon transport.the few witnesses who survived described the transport as most unusual-it was black and looked oddly "empty" as the Minbari captain described it."We're going to have to check it out soon if we want to maintain the alliance" said Dr.Franklin."And you know I hadn't been out there" ,pointing to the blackness of space, "for too long". "It's too dangerous. I can't allow you risking yourself like that-you're our chief of the medical staff. I should send Marcus, whenever he returns from Io or Ivanonva. I honestly don't think...." the captain's word's were abruptly cut by the anxious doctor "I really need to do this, to prove myself as something more than a doctor-we're here for the adventure as well. come on captain, I'll take the nearest white star stationed, the "Valen", and be back in a few hours. just to look around-what could go wrong?". "What could go wrong? what could go wrong?! what am I doing here?" thought Stephen Franklin as he stared at the most strangest of Vorlon Ships he ever saw. Lennier, who was on the ship as translator, thought something very similar at the same time. "O.K., get a grip of yourself, what would... what would my father do?" (General Franklin was a very experienced soldier), thought Stephen to himself. "Open communication to the renegade (?!) ship", he ordered. "Ship is not responding and arming its weapons" said Lennier. "well, we don't want that, do we?" said Stephen hastily. "prepare to open fire on the ship if it tries to lock on" he ordered. "this is strange" ,said Lyta Alexander, who was there in case of shadows, "there's no one in". "What do you mean?" asked Franklin quickly. "It's just the outer hull of the consciences. the Vorlon component is missing" Lyta whispered to herself. "this is unprecedented, even with what I saw and experienced on the Vorlon homeward. maybe there's a way to communicate with it. it must be mad-to lose that much of yourself and still live? I wonder what went wrong... it was supposed to self destruct, not to run and attack others. that's not the Vorlon way ,that the shad..." she thought to herself, interrupted by a sudden loss of balance ."the white star must be under an attack .how can I communicate with that hollow ship?" she continued. "Doctor", she said, "I think there may be a way to contact it. you see, if we make direct contact by...." and she told him how she plans to leave the white star and touch the Vorlon transport for communication. "You're mad! you'll be killed! I can't allow that." Lyta, carrying Kosh at the time ,felt an uncontrollable urge to smack Dr. Franklin ,and she did. She ran off the bridge, put on a suit and went Outside. The Vorlon ship seemed very strange-so black against the blackness of space. Lyta wanted to touch the ship but was also afraid. when she was close enough, she felt a stream of emotions and the most basic thoughts flowing from the ship. she felt fear and agony, loneliness and anger, revenge and a childlike naivety. she put out her hand to touch the ship but it went away ,backing slowly, as though it was confused and disoriented. at last, Lyta gave up her attempts and (to her surprise) regretfully returned to the "Valen". As she entered the ship she began to cry, sharing the ship sadness and pain, trying to explain to Stephen how sorry she was and what's it like to lose a part of one's self. "You see",she said, "I think the Vorlon ship got mad, insane without its counter-part, the Vorlon it was assigned to.and ever since,it's been looking for revenge, taking its toll from the Vorlon's allies-the Minbari, the Narn (with G'quan and all that) while leaving the unfamiliar ships (Earth and Centauri) intact.I tried to ease what was left of its mind, and i think it made it feel better.we should let it 'think' about it for a while, then come back and try again", Lyta concluded. The Vorlon ship began to drift away, setting course towards the rim, towards the farthest point humans and Minbari ever went and in general direction of Za'ha'dum. as the ship went away, the white star began to open a jump point back to B5, assured by Lyta that the ship will not bother anyone again, being relieved to some extent from its pain. but then, a jump point formed, revealing a huge Vorlon ship, weapons charged and ready to fire. Franklin called to the Vorlons to stop them ,for the Transport was not a threat anymore ,but with no use. The Vorlons fired and destroyed the transport. As the fire raged over the destroyed transport ,it looked as if a shade was passing and a relieve was felt .the shade seemed to flicker and then disappear, passing very close to the "Valen". "I'm glad that's over" ,said Franklin. "yes", agreed Lyta with some doubt, "it's over...". 2261-White star ship "Valen" The "Valen" smiled as it passed through sector 19 .it was a very disturbing smile, if any of the passengers aboard could have seen it....
