If you are archiving things, please save this version. Thanks =========================================================================== _Another Reason J. Michael Straczynski Hates Filk Music_ copyright (c) 1995 P. Alan Thiesen (has original melody, but may be sung to "Rosin the Bow") My name is J. Michael Straczynski Creator of _Babylon 5_. I've just cut a deal with the dolphins The smartest earth creatures alive. The dolphins abhor human beings Who are fouling the sea, land, and sky. They want to exterminate humankind Beginning with fans of sci-fi. Now, dolphins are ethical creatures Who kill only for food to survive, But they'll drive human beings to suicide with the show known as _Babylon 5_. Step one is to hook all the viewers And keep their eyes glued to the screen With foreshadowing and continuity (Not to mention character development and scientific accuracy) Such things that no Trekkie has seen. In step two, TV viewers will shoot themselves Because they will not find it funny That Ambassador Kosh's encounter suit Is hiding the Energizer bunny. In step three, the survivors will strangle themselves, For life can no longer be fun When the Great War is finally over And it turns out the Shadows have won. To the dolphins, I said, "There's a better way To reduce TV viewers to tears. Just tell them that _Babylon 5_ will only Be on the air for five years." When five years are up, SF fans worldwide Will all hang themselves by the neck When they've found out what SF TV can be, And the only thing left is _Star Trek_. ======================================================================== -- Virtually Yours, Richard Hazlewood RHAZLWD@KUHUB.CC.UKANS.EDU Do not assume malice when stupidity will suffice. -Flame War Comment
