I'm going to KILL you!" screamed a red head as she heard rocks hitting her window again. Janet Eleen Combs' stupid little brother, Colin, was frankly, annoying the crap out of her. Not wise at all. Janet walked over to her cat, Sammy, who was in the litter box. "Scat!" she told it, and the Siamese took the hint. Rocks continued to hit her window as she picked up the poop strewn litter box and walked over to the window. She opened it, and a rock hit her forehead. Below her, the snotty creature with blonde hair laughed and tossed another. He was almost directly below the window, perfect. With a groan, Janet heaved the littler box to the window sill and dumped it on her brother. He screamed and fell under the weight, it was Janet's turn to laugh. "I'm gonna tell Mom on you!" he yelled. "Up your ass, Colin!" Janet screamed out the window before she closed it and went back to the task of putting her shoulder length red hair up in a bun. Her room surrounded her in its usual peace, once she calmed down. She'd designed it to do that. The deep blue, star-speckled walls reflected their color in her leafy green eyes. She smiled, Colin would be cleaning himself up for hours. The phone rang, and not pausing in her task, Janet picked it up. "Yeah, oh, hi Sarah. No way, she actually dumped him! Ann has always been a stupid....." she trailed off as her best friend interrupted her. Sarah wanted her to help baby-sit her little cousins and brother. Shoot. "Can't you find some one else. Oh, I see. No, that's okay, but can we order pizza?" Janet continued until she heard her step-father called her. "Janet! Get your butt down here for breakfast!" Ron yelled. "Coming! (dumb ass)" Janet yelled, holding the phone away. "Listen, Sarah, I gotta go. Ron the dumb ass is bugging me to come to breakfast. Yeah, see ya. Bye." Janet turned off the phone and put her brush down. She quickly spun her hair up and put it in a claw. As she went down stairs, she knocked on her stepsister, Moonbeam's, door. "Moonbeam, it's breakfast time." she spoke. The Elton John music that was coming from inside was turned up too loud, Janet couldn't hear herself think. She opened the door. Black walls, bed, curtains, ceiling, carpet and most anything else in the room greeted her. She looked around, as saw Moonbeam lighting incense. "Moonbeam!" she yelled, "Get your fat ass down stairs before Ron has an ulcer! Not that I'd really mind, but then I'd have to live with you forever, so get down there!" Moonbeam merely turned her black eyes on Janet with disgust. "I'll come when I feel like it." she said. Janet shook her head and rolled her eyes. "Now, damn it. And turn down that music, you wana make me pewk or something!" ----------- Main dome Mars colony- 2247 Eleen May Holt-stargate almost wished back the days when the hardest thing she had to do was clean up after Sammy or vacuum the entrance hall. "Table number 13 needs service, Eleen, step on it." a grumbly cook mutter as she shoved a chicken salad in the hands of the fourteen year old. "Yes Ma'am." Eleen swallowed her pride and went to do her job. She got paid seven credits every hour for this, and she needed all that money to bring home to her family. She spotted her brother, Wesly, helping a bus boy clean some dishes. Technically, it was against the law for a ten year old to be working, but Wes got paid three credits every hour, below minimum wage, something else to add to Eleen's small pay check. She went out into the dinning area and approached table 13. With out even looking at her customer, she merely rattled off from memory; "Hello, I'm Elly, and I'll be your server today. Tonight's special is filet of crab in a Centari spoo sauce. What can I get you?" "Coffee." came a smooth reply. Eleen looked down and into the soul-full eyes of a young, dark skinned man. His smile was bright. "Will there be anything else?" she had trouble finding her voice. "No, thank you Elly." he said softly. She looked down and saw he had a name sewn in his jacket. Stephen. "You're welcome, Stephen." she smiled, and he smiled back. She could see herself reflected in his dark, fathomless eyes. "Pleasure's all mine." he said. And she left. Eleen quickly filled his order and got it back to him, in a cup to go. He thanked her once more and picked up his scatchle, turning to leave. But then he turned back and looked at Eleen, regarding her like some sort of earth bound goddess, even in her ugly maroon waitress' uniform with her hair tied back. "Goodbye, Elly." and then he was gone. --------- Babylon 5- 2260 Eleen May returned to consciousness to be greeted by the sounds of wailing. She was in med lab, and there was blood every where. Then a nurse appeared out of the blur that the world had become. She laid two babies in Elly's arms, and the memory came flooding back to the mother. She looked down on the twins in her arms. One was dark skinned, with dark hair and eyes, and the other had a red tuff of hair. This one's eyes were closed. "Hey, baby. Can I see your eyes?" Elly nudged the child, who peeped out at the world. Her eyes were black. "What are we going to name them?" a voice asked behind her. It was her husband. Stephen Franklin wrapped his arms around his wife and new born daughters, pride and joy evident on his face. Eleen looked into his deep, soul full eyes and sighed. "This one," she indicated the red-head, "I want to name her Kathy, after my mother." Stephen smiled and took the dark one from her. "Then this one should be Fay, after my mother. And Cora, for my sister. Fay Cora Franklin." he smiled down at his wife. "Okay, then Kathy can be Kathy Ann." "It needs something." Stephen commented and Elly nodded. "Ann was one of my best friend's name. Actually, there were two of them. Ann Finlay and Rose Annabelle. We called her Roseanne." "That's it!" "What?" "Kathy Annabelle." "Kathy Annabelle Franklin." Eleen tasted the name. She smiled, liking it already. "Thank you for these treasures, darling." Stephen whispered in her ear. Eleen smiled and turned to see her sister, Aleia walk in. "Hey, Elly. Was birthing that hard?" she asked. "I really can't say, I don't remember." Elly said, Aleia laughed at that. As her sister got closer, Elly reached up to whisper in her ear. "It was worth it, Sarah, it was worth it."
