Kidnapping threat of their son puts them in a tight spot. All charectors belong to JMS and whoever else owns them. If you want them back take them. You can freely distrubute this story, but PLEASE keep my name on it. Please comment. This Story takes place 10 years after John Sheridian came to Babylon Five and five and a half years after the end of the Sadow War. The ideas for this story come from War With Out End , where both Delenn and John Sheridian see parts of the future. It got stuck in my head that they had a kid named Daniel and what sort of parents would they make. This is my first story. ****************************** Daniel Sheridian ****************************** The year is 2269. The Earth Alliance has been replaced. While President Clark has been sitting in his grave for six years, his loyalist factions have scattered. But still remain. Babylon Five's mission of peace is still the same. The command staff has remained the same. The only thing out of place is the absence of Londo who now controls Centari Prime. Babylon Five has become an even more important place in that it is offiacly owned and operated by Minbar and Earth Belt Alliance............... (Voice of a Vorlon) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- The five year old rounded the corner into the master bedroom and bumped into his father's legs. John Sheridian reached down and plucked the kid off his feet to the delight of his son. "So Daniel, where you off to in such a hurry?" "No where." Daniel winked a green eye and bounced out of his dad's arms and into the kitchen. "Where's mom?" Sheridian walked out to join him. This was his semi-official night off to spend time with his son. Delenn was supposed to join the two of them for dinner at one of the Zocalo's eating establishments in two hours. "She's at a meeting with Ambassador G'kar but we're meeting her for dinner later. What do you want till then?" John Sheridian waited for the five year old to respond. Daniel's face screwed itself into the weirdest positions when he was thinking. He didn't have much family time because he was in charge of running this station and Delenn was the Minbari ambassador plus was a leading figure in her planetary government. But one thing had been agreed upon five years ago, Daniel came first, hence the night off. "I want to go to the garden. We can play baseball." Daniel dodged under the table and then made a quick dash to his room to procur his baseball and mitt . He charged out again with a lop-sided grin on his face. His father barely managed to hold back laughing at the sight. "Ready to go." Sheridian reached over, grabbed him round waist and hoisted him onto his shoulders. The two of the made their way to the garden at a leisurely pace. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Delenn sat in an uncomfortable chair in Ambassador G'Kar's office. She didn't particularly want to be here, but Minbar had made several agreements with the Narn government after the planet had been mysteriously, and miraculously saved by a group of unknown ships. Since then, the Narns had been a lot happier. They were recieving a lot of help from both Minbar and EBA. The Centari didn't even care about losing Narn, because apparently the situation at home had gotten a whole lot worse. She glanced at Lennier, who was sitting next to her. He looked just about as intrested in this, as she felt. She would rather be in the Zocolo eating dinner with John and Daniel than here; well only a half hour left to go. G'Kar said something and she replied back with the correct words. Then, she turned her thoughts back to what had brought her to this time. They had beaten the Shadows five and a half years ago. Earth had come to its senses a year earlier, after the assaination of President Clark by a group of hum ns who never took credit. With their eyes open, they started talking to the Belt Alliance which was running, and running well, most of its former colony worlds, including Mars. Shortly after that, with the permission of both of their governments, she and Captain John Sheridian had gotten married. He had proposed to her two years prior to getting the okay to be married. That day was one of thee happiest days in her life, too bad today wasn't one. "Have you heard anything about Clark's men and a Bridget Hooper who leads them?" G'Kar said. Delenn blinked. She clearly had missed something. Day dreaming was something too human that she should learn to control. "No. Should I have?" "They supposedly want Earth back to its former self and plan to come here to get that power. According to my sources, they plan to eliminate the command staff here, then place themselves at the head." G'Kar finished off with a smile. Lennier gave Delenn a look of surprise. "Thank you for that information, G'Kar. I will be sure to tell John that, when I see him. If that is all, good day." "That's all." With that Delenn left, followed closely behind by Lennier. "Lennier, copuld you check up on what G'Kar said. I have to go meet John and Daniel in the Zocolo." Delenn said. She wondered if G'kar was giving her a warning. Things on Earth were still pretty unstable from her understanding. "Delenn, do you believe what G'kar informed you about? I have heard rumors of such an organization, but nothing on the scale of taking over the station." Lennier said. Lennier worried about Delenn. She had taken a lot of grief from Minbar lately. Apparently they thought she was to lax in her dealings with others, but then again she was the second most influential Minbari there was. Well, Delenn thought, as least some body will take it seriously. She smiled at Lennier. "Your sources must be better than mine." With that she headed to the Zocolo, for a nice quiet family dinner. Lennier sighed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Mario Plehev stood in the mass of people swirling around the Zocolo. He worked for a group known as Bull Horns, or as others called them: Clark's Men. Mario watched his target as he moved along. He needed him isolated so, Katrice could make the snatch. It was a simple operation. The hostage would then be off the station in five minutes, tops. The ship would either get clearance, or the hostage would be artfully hidden. There were no catches, only guarentess of success. If they ever hoped to get their government back on the right track, they had to get that bastard, Sheridian. Heck, he had half the humans that exsisted drooling at his feet, and he WASN'T even the president. Well, he smiled to himself, at least he had enough brains to turn the job down to begin with. Politics was a nasty bussiness. That was the only thing he would give the man credit. He was a wacko. He married an alien freak. He had a kid who was an alien freak. He was in favor of an Earth-Minbari Alliance. Man, did he wan the freak-lover dead. Mario found Katrice watching him from across the Zocolo. He gave her a wave. Okay, so he was only nineteen. He could do his job with out screw. Sheesh, who did they think he was? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Garibaldi leaned back in his office chair and smiled. Another quiet day. He loved quiet days. In fact, the past five years had been relatively quiet compared to before. Yep, this was a good day. Maybe, when he went off duty, he'd cook himself a great meal and invite Susan to join him. He smiled, Life was good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- John Sheridian was sitting at a table. Daniel was going tthrough a speel of jokes that Garibaldi had evidently taught him. His eyes were peeled for Delenn. He absentmindly put his hand on Daniel's head. He had this nasty, nagging feeling that something was about to go wrong. When she did appear, she practically ran to them. Sheridian smiled. This was an intresting greeting. "John, we must talk." "Nope. It's TIME to eat mom." Delenn had almost forgotten Daniel was there. She gave her son a smile. "Hey Daniel, why don't we go back to our quarters to eat?" To which Daniel made clear his opinion of this idea by making gagging sounds. Delenn sighed. She loved her son (and frankly agreed with his opinion of John Sheridian's cooking) but he could be a little stubborn. That was something he had inherited from his fahter. "*John*" she said, to which he picked up Daniel and carried him off in the direction of their quarters. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Silently, Katrice swore. This plan needed to be scraped. Plan B would be set into action later. Damn. It would have been so much more affective to snatch him under his parents eyes. Hooper wouldn't be happy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Problem, Daniel thought. Yep most definetly a problem. Problem must be me or dad. Mom not react that way before. Besides they didn't talk about world problems in front of him. He frowned. What would they do? John Sheridian was equally as worried as Daniel was. Daniel had obviously recognized this because he was frowning. Delenn must be really upset if she reacted like this. This would obviously put a damper on their plans. He'd fix something. He had REALLY improved his culinary skills in the past seven years (Ha ha ha ha ) (from his point of view). He risked a glance at Delenn again. He hadn't scene her this upset since going to Za' Ha' Dum. Man was he wanting to pry into her brains. Delenn was nervous. She had checked with one of her sources before going to dinner. What she heard was totally unexspected. They planned a personal attack on her family. That was something she would not stand for. She loved John and Daniel to much for something to ever happen to them. She promised herself she would protect hem. She had risked so much for them. If anything happened and she lost them, well it would be the end of her, the end of her universe. She'd have no where to go and no one to turn to . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The doors on the lift opened. "Green Sector", Sheridian said. John would know what to do, he always did. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is the end to part one. Comments and suggestions please. I plan to finish the next part in about a week or two. Any plot suggestions are welcome. Laura Hale fkxc49f@prodigy.com
