As the daughter of two of the most important people in the galaxy, the two who brought the destruction of the Shadows, no one ever thought Norana could be capable of what she did. The Destruction of Angels Part One By: Stephanie _______________________________________________________________ Late 2262 Delenn lifted the small bundle into her arms. Maryia let out another wail. "Awake from your nap little one?" She asked, sighing. She was hoping the other two wouldn't wake up as well. Another wail, this one louder, came into the air. Delenn sighed. "John!" She called. "Come here! Get your son!" John appeared in the nursery. He smiled, and lifted David up. "Hey Davie! You're awake, huh? Yes, I think you are! Yes I do!" He coed. Delenn smiled, "What is it about babies that make humans talk so funny?" She said to her daughter. "I heard that!" He laughed. "But it is true." She glanced at the final crib. "Is Norana awake?" John glanced in the crib, and shook his head. "No." He shifted David, who was still crying. "I think I'll take this one on a walk, okay?" Delenn nodded. "All right." John left and Delenn laid Maryia in her crib. She walked to Norana's crib and looked down on her daughter. 'There's something different about her.' She thought. 'She's so quiet, and disconnected from the other two.' She laid her hand on Norana's head. A chill ran down her spin, something was odd about her. 'Maybe I'm just being paranoid.' _______________________________________________________________ 14 Years Later 2276 Dear Journal, Hey! It's me, Norana again. I had a normal day today. When I woke up Maryia and David were at it again. I believe it started when Maryia asked David why he was eating flarn for breakfast. David shrugged and said 'I just like it. Why?' and Maryia said 'because it taste like processed sewage.' He picked some up and waved it in her face, so she knocked it out of his hand and on to me. They both started laughing. It was terrible. I got mad. 'Have some sense of humor!' They say. 'Leave it to Norana to spoil the fun.' I'm so sick of being the butt of every joke! I could kill them! At school it was a little better. Maryia and David have different schedules then I do. Maryia studies advanced medical science. David's in astronomy classes. My computer tech classes have very different classes than their's, less hard. There's a new guy in school, Lars Jenkins. He's really sweet and cute. His family just moved to Minbar. There aren't very many humans, so he the talk of the school. ISN's on my tale again! I skipped a class at school yesterday and they found out. I have to be careful. It's important to Mom and Dad's image that I be a perfect golden girl. I can't fill that roll! It's just not me. We studied the Shadow's in school, and I understand their theories. In fact, I kind of agree with them. I can't tell Mom and Dad. They won't understand. I'll write more later. Bye. _______________________________________________________________ 2277 "Hey! Nori!" A familiar voice called out. "Wait up!" Norana spun around and grinned. "Hey Lars!" Lars caught up to her. "How's it going?" He asked. Norana rolled her eyes. "Same as always." Lars smiled, "So you'll come to my house for a romantic dinner?" Norana was shocked for a moment, but soon got over it. She smiled casually. "Sure, whatever." "Good." He smiled. "Be there at eight." "I'll be there." She smiled and continued home. The minute she walked into the house she screamed. David tumbled into the room. "Norana what in the universe!!" Norana grinned. "Guess who has a date with Lars Jenkins?" David gave her a looked. "Not you I hope." Norana sighed. "Of course it's me!" David looked at her, worried. "Norana-" "What?" She prompted. David sighed. "I heard a bunch of guys talking and-" He sighed again. "Lars agrees with Shadow ideas. He also said he wants to find the Drak and work with them." Norana sighed, and thought for a minute. Then smiled. "He's just talking big." She started to leave, but then she turned to her brother. "If you tell Mom and Dad, I'll never forgive you." "Tell me what?" Her father asked. She spun around to see him standing in the door. She glared at her brother again. "Nothing." "She has a date with Lars Jenkins." David filled in. "The guy I told you about." John Sheridan quickly turned his attention to his daughter. "You're not allowed to date him, or even talk to him Norana." He ordered. Norana's eyes narrow. "But Dad-" "No buts! You are not to go out tonight. Is that perfectly, crystal, clear?" He told her. Norana sighed, "Yeah, sure, whatever." And she fled from the room. _______________________________________________________________ At 7:45 Norana looked at herself in the mirror. "Am I really doing this?" She asked herself. Her reflection did not answer. She looked at a family picture on her desk. There sat Mom and Dad smiling, looking as happy as ever. David standing on one side of them, looking tall and happy, and as lively as ever. Maryia on the other side as self-confident, and cheerful as anyone could be. Then there was her in the middle. She looked sad and her eyes had a distant quality. So different from the rest of them. Maryia would never seek out like she was about to do, and David wouldn't have anything to do with Lars because of his political views. She sighed, "I can't have them live my life for me." She said, and she silently slipped out of the house. A few minutes later she stood at the front door of Lars Jenkins house. For some reason she couldn't bring herself to knock. Her mother's voice rang in her head. "If you go in there, Norana, you will destory all your father and I worked and suffered for....." Norana closed her eyes for a minute. Then opened them again. "I've come this far," she said, "no turning back now." She knock on the door. "It's open!" Came the reply from inside. Norana took a deep breath, and walked into her destiny. _______________________________________________________________ Well, that's the end of part one, and I know what you're think!!
