He fell, the next came in with gun blazing. The security officer fell. "My God! There killing everyone!" said the anchor. A rebel pointed his PPG at the reporter. "Wait! That’s not an EarthForce-" She was shot before she could say anything else. Everyone was shot in the entire building. Five hundred people dead. More outside. The peace was over. The dream was over. War. January 6, 2762. Scouting over Geneva. Two days after first attack by pro-Interstellar Alliance: The area around EarthDome was littered with bodies. Guards, soldiers, civilians and anything that wasn’t moving and that looked like a Human or alien was dead. A few Minbari were alive, but barely. A couple of White Stars flew over to look at the damage. The captain of White Star 312 (the Neroon) looked down at the dead bodies. "In Valen’s name, how did this happen? "That’s a affirmative thirty-four. We’ve got-" the commander cut himself off. "We’ve got a Atmosphere jump point! Ship is coming out… it’s a old Omega-class. Mark Five. But the EarthForce symbol is missing. There’s a new one in it’s place. It’s… IT’S HOMEGUARD! Red Alert, Homeguard ship on attack vector. There’s another one!" The commander counted six Omega-class destroyers. "That’s a six! Six Omega’s! All turrets lock on and fire!" All fifty turrets opened fire on the Homeguard ships. The Homeguard fired back. X-ray lasers and pulse shots decimated the Mons dome. The turrets homed in on the lead ship, the E.A.S. Terran. "All turrets FIRE!" screamed the commander. Hundreds of pulse shots slammed into the Terran. The ship’s flank started to break up. The engines broke apart. Then the mid-ship and finally the front end. The ship exploded in a flash greater than a atomic bomb’s. The weak Martian gravity made the debris fall slowly. Thirty-four could see Homeguard personnel falling out of the debris. The would suffocate before they would hit the ground. "My God," said thirty-four. "Look!" The commander turned his turret to the Homeguard fleet. "Oh sh-" said the commander as he saw the pulse shots heading toward him. His body was torn to bits as the shots impacted on his turret. So did the other forty-nine bodies of the turret soldiers. After scanning for anymore turrets, the Homeguard fleet jumped into hyperspace. Now knowing that they made their point. January 8, 2762. ISN building on Epsilon 3. Urgent News room. ‘ISN NightSide Special Report’ is what the screen read. Then the face of anchor Kelly Nagisokomo appeared. She spoke, "This is an ISN Special Report. As of yesterday at 3:53pm, Earth Standard Time, The organization known as Homeguard has declared war on the pro-Interstellar Alliance group Sheridan’s Sons. This is after the attack on the Cuban military base on Earth by Sheridan’s Sons. It’s expected that this war will determine if Earth will still be part of the Interstellar Alliance or not. Tonight, we have the leader of Sheridan’s Sons, General William Richards and the President of the Earth Alliance, President Sandra Keller." Nagisokomo turns to the VidScreens. "Welcome General, Madam President. "Thank you," said Richards "Thanks," said Keller. "Okay, my question is. Why did this happen? General?" "As you might of seen, the Homeguard said they would attack our civilian colonies. Over twenty-five million dead! That’s why we attacked their military outpost in Cuba and their outpost on Deneb 5." "Deneb 5?" asked Nagisokomo. "Deneb 5 is…was their main military base. Shipyards, research, training, you name it they had it." Keller stepped in. "Yes, I saw General and I respect your decision. But why hit Deneb 5? Homeguard said that it was a Stellar Cadet outpost." "Cadet outpost?!? Okay, okay, let’s say it was a Cadet outpost. Why the hell would the Cadets be so far from the nearest colony? After Deneb 4 was abandoned, the nearest colony is a hundred and fifty light years away." "He’s got a point, President." noted Nagisokomo. Suddenly, another VidScreen came down and another face appeared. "I am Jacob Johnson of Homeguard. We have just destroyed your headquarters on Mars. Your fleet is spread thin due to our smaller raids on your worlds. If you want to live, surrender now! Johnson out!" "See, Madam President, they already want a surrender. President Keller." Nagisokomo screamed. Richards changed his VidScreen view. "Oh My God!" The president was slumped in her chair. A PPG burn on her neck. Blood splattered on the back and the Homeguard symbol (The man and woman symbols hooked together) was on her forehead. "That son of a..." Suddenly, a producer screamed. "ATTACK SHIPS ARE IN ORBIT!!!" "Everyone down to the-" Above, the Impact-class bomber ships, Horoscope and Javelin, bombed the ISN station with mass drivers. The asteroids impacted around the station, but still destroyed it. An automatic beacon was activated from under the station. On the Javelin: "What the hell is that laser beam," asked the captain. The science officer spoke, "It’s a kind of beacon. It’s sending a message." "Can you decode it?" asked the captain. "Yes," said the science officer. The computer beeped. "It says… ‘Ivonova! Help, Ivonova!’." "My God!
