Security Chief Zack Allan didn't even look up from his datapad. "Oh, of course" the handsome young man responded, fumbling in the pockets of his elegant suit clumsily. After several seconds, Zack breathed a sigh of agitation, looking up to see who exactly it was that was holding his line up. He was struck by a sense of recognition. He knew the face, but he couldn't put a name with it... "Oh, here it is." The man grinned sheepishly, handing over the hard plastic strip. "Thanks." Zack replied, a tiny bit of sarcasm tingeing his voice. He inserted the card into his datapad. Let's get this over with quickly. Zack thought. Threes a ton of people in line behind him waiting to be admitted. Then his pad beeped, displaying information about the visitor. Zack stared, open- mouthed. This can't be. This just can't be. I knew he looked familiar. Maintaining his composure, Zack spoke into his link. "Lou, can you get someone to man the Docking Bays? I gotta something that requires my attention." "Will do, Chief." Lou's gravelly voice spoke over the link. "Mr. Morden, is it?" Zack turned to face the familiar looking young man. "That's correct. Is there a problem, Officer?" Zack was saved from having to answer that particular question by the arrival of one his crew. "Roberts, take over here. Mr. Morden, if you would be so kind as to step this way?" "I repeat- Is there a problem, Officer?" Even now, Morden still held his trademark smile, an inquiring look on his face. Zack struggled to keep even tone, despite wanting to punch Morden right in the face. All the tragedy and mayhem that followed this man.. How many of his friends had died at this man's behest.. All of it came surging back to him. Then, a semblance of sanity returned, and he though Get hold of yourself, Allan, It can't be Morden. He's dead, his head is still sitting on a pike outside the Centauri Imperial Place. "If you'd step this way, sir?" Zack kept his voice emotionless. He escorted Morden to a small interrogation room, motioning for Morden to have a seat. "Do you treat all your visitors to the Station this way, Officer?" "Don't pull that with me. I know all about you." "I don't think that's possible, Officer. I'm afraid this is my first visit to the station." Zack activated his link, speaking into it. "Captain Lochley, this is Zack. I've got a situation here that requires your attention." "On my way, Zack." Lochleys voice responded over the comm. "Now, Mr. Morden, you mean to tell me that you have no recollection of being on Babylon 5 before?" "That's right, Officer" he looks at Allans name badge,"Allan." his voice now held the faintest tinge of annoyance. "I just arrived from Earth, aboard the liner Callisto, which I do believe you saw me disembark from. So," he paused momentarily, the last part of his sentence coming out in a sibilant hiss. What, exactly, do you want, Officer Allan?" The door hissed open, and Captain Elizabeth Lochley entered, looking stern and regal in her Earthforce outfit. "What is the problem, Mr.Allan?" Then she saw Morden, and look of anger mixed with just a touch of fear crossed her face. "Captain, may I introduce Mr. Morden, just arrived from Earth." "Mr.Allan, isn't he.." "Yes Captain, he is, or so the rumors go." For the first time in her life, Captain Elizabeth Lochley looks flummoxed. She has seen much in her life (most of it in the past few months.), including a showdown between rogue-telepaths and the Psi-Corps, the return of her dead friend Zoe from beyond the grave, and the recent bombing of Centauri Prime. But this, this could be BAD... "Mr.Allan, why don't you escort Mr.Morden to the Green sector and get him a guest room? Then meet me in the Ready Room." "Will do, Captain. After you." he turns to Morden gesturing for him to rise. Lochley pulls Zack aside, speaking to him in a hushed whisper. "Take him the back way, Zack, Try to keep this as low profile as possible. We don't want to spread word that he's here, although I will convene a meeting of the Ambassadors. They, at least, deserve to know what's going on, and may be instrumental in finding out who he really is and why he's here." Then, in a louder voice, addressing Morden; "How long do you plan on staying on B5, Mr. Morden?" Morden turns, fixing his winning smile on Lochley. "I'm not sure, Captain. But time will tell, Captain. Time will tell." As Morden exited, escorted by Zack, Lochley felt a chill run up her spine. What's that old saying? Like someone just walked on your grave. Lochley thought. (Obviously to be continued....) From: "Gentile, Richard" Subject: Fan Fiction Pt. 2 Hey everyone!
