Who is to say where life ends, and death begins?
Who is to say where the first journey ends, and the abyss starts?
Who is to say that life is the only lifetime?
That death is not a new existence onto itself?
That it is not possible to transverse the two planes of existence?
That wars do not rage in death?
That the realm of death does not need protectors?
Throughout history, people who have returned from the hereafter and have told of their experience have been deified and demonfied.  Been labeled as saints, gods, or lunatics.
This nether realm has many a name.
To the humans, it is Heaven, and Hell.
To the narn, it is K'vashkan.
To the centauri, it is Joven.
To the minbari, it is simply the Place where no Shadow Falls.
And this is a story of a man's adventure in the hereafter, and our world.
