The goal of the university was to offer students a chance to learn in an enviroment where they would be exposed to the wonders of the universe. The University's initial offering were classes in engineering, economics, archeology and classes on Earth's relations with the League worlds. Classes were also offered in alien lingustics. The University's location, on Orion VII, was convienent in its first four years because of its off Earth location. In 2258, the University of Babylon was moved to Babylon 5's Green Section. This move enabled greater cohesion among Earth allies. It also created more courses and changed the focus of the University. It now caters more to Xeno and Interstellar classes. Because of the participation and cooperation of all aboard Babylon 5, many courses were offered. In 2261, the University of Babylon was moved for its third and final time to Minbar. This was because of the stability offered there and because Minbar is now the regional head of all academic pursuits due to the founding of the Alliance. Because of the new location, the Minbari Studies major is being reworked. Several classes are being reworked in this major, including pike making. More Minbari instructors will be added to the staff. Housing has been improved and students will have greater flexibilty in their lifestyle selections. There are three bedroom suites, which house six students. There are single rooms. There are double rooms. There are four bedroom suites with two bathrooms and a kitchen. All housing spots are affordable. -------- Classes Offered by Department CORE Core Requirements CORE 101 (2) Grammar and Rhertoric I CORE 102 (2) Grammar and Rhertoric II : PRE REQ: CORE 101 CORE 103 (3) Grammar and Rhertoric I: PRE REQ: Placement Test CORE 104 (3) Fundamentals of Communications PHED Physical Education PHED 111 (2): Minbari Relaxation Techniques: Learn how to relax by using well known Minbari techniques.
